ITHACA, N.Y. The Cornell track and field teams began the west coast portion of the annual spring trip with a very successful showing at the UC Riverside Spring Classic. After leaving behind snow and cold in Ithaca, the Big Red competed in very sunny and hot conditions on Saturday in Riverside, as the temperatures hit the mid-90s. On the strength of five event wins and 12 ECAC qualifying performances, the women placed first in the eight team field with 152 points, in a meet that came down to an exciting finish in the 4x400 relay.
